ThinkCyber discuss proven behavioural change techniques such as "nudge theory" and their application in the context of security awareness. By working through real security challenges such as phishing, password security and attachment handling, the talk will explore how to structure an awareness campaign, supported by software tools, that use these techniques to drive the real aim of security awareness – ongoing secure behavioural change.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. You will understand why your people need to be your strongest defence against cyber attack
  2. You will understand the gaps in traditional approaches to security awareness
  3. You will understand how and why nudge theory and the EAST technique support behavioural change
  4. You will understand the implications of Stanford Professor BJ Fogg’s behavioural change theory for designing a security awareness campaign
  5. You will learn how to apply behavioural theory in a range of contexts including phishing, password security and attachment handling.
