04 Jun 2019, 10:40 - 11:05

Tech Talks

With an increasing skills gap and wave of autonomous attacks, military, governments and global enterprises are asking industry to deliver “self-healing, self-defending systems”. Nicola Whiting discusses A.I.’s failures, whether we risk a ‘rise of the machines’ style “Judgement Day” and what is needed to transform cyber defence. This paper examines the shortcomings of the industry’s ‘go-to’ tools, and the technology ecosystem needed to generate the accurate data on which credible AI solutions depend with an aim to inspire delegates to champion ‘accuracy in automation’ in their own business/organisation, paving the way for trusted autonomous mitigation solutions that’ll transform enterprise security.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Learn why artificial intelligence is the only viable way to address the cyber arms race that our industry is currently ill equipped to deal with.
  2. Discover the technology ecosystem that enterprises/nations need in order to develop resilient, dependable self-healing networks.
  3. Know what, as an industry, we must learn from past AI failings when choosing/developing the self-defending networks of the future.
  4. Understand why collaboration is key to evolving from current ‘go-to’ tools that leave holes in our knowledge and our defences – to solutions that deliver the reliable data that AI depends on.
  5. Be inspired to champion ‘accuracy in automation’ in your own business/organisation and pave the way for trusted autonomous mitigation solutions that will transform your enterprise security.
