Champagne CISO: Crisis Comms: How to Handle a Crisis in Front of the Media

05 Jun 2019, 15:00 - 16:30

Leaders Programme

Even at the most well-run companies things can go wrong, and when a crisis strikes your reputation is at stake.

How you prepare for a crisis and implement a crisis management strategy will dictate whether there is any long term corporate damage.

If you have a data breach the media will want answers to difficult questions because their readers/viewers/listeners (your customers, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders) demand them.

You will learn:

  • Why advance planning is crucial and you must respond quickly when a crisis hits
  • How you work with the media. This means providing a steady flow of information
  • Why you must prepare for difficult questions, why journalists ask them and learn how to answer them. No comment is not an answer
  • How to include your employees when things go wrong and journalists come knocking
  • How to ensure your relationship with the media and your different audiences can be rebuilt once a crisis is over

Who can attend the Infosecurity Europe Leaders Programme?

The programme is only open to CISOs and Heads of Information Security, who are the final decision-makers and budget holders for information security in end-user organisations. Appropriate delegate profiles include job titles such as CISO, CIO, Head of Information Security, Director of Information Security, etc.

Unfortunately, no vendors, security service suppliers or consultants will be accepted because this is an end-user group.
