As we face an ever-larger number of increasingly more complex cyber threats in networks operating at ever greater speeds, the developers of tomorrow’s cybersecurity appliances must ensure their products are capable of meeting this challenge.

This talk looks at the role of Regular Expression (RegEx) Processing and its applications within cybersecurity. We examine the relevance of pattern and string matching to applications such as Intrusion Prevention/ Detection, UTM and NGFW and look at the benefits of hardware acceleration within product development.
