In this session the audience will learn four security principles to apply when choosing or designing secure mobile devices. Regardless of whether you are a buying or building devices, there are certain characteristics that help in distinguishing whether the device can be relied on holding your sensitive data or whether it puts the data at risk. After this session you will know what are the key design principles for secure devices and be able to build a checklist for your device vendor so that you can ensure your data security is maintained at rest and in transit.

  1. Understand the building blocks of secure hardware/device design
  2. Understand why security is relevant in mobile devices
  3. Be able to challenge the vendors for secure design of devices
