Encryption is critical to protection of information assets at rest and in transit, this accessible introduction to encryption reviews key concepts, technologies and services involved in its development and use. This includes a history of encryption, block and stream ciphers, symmetric and asymmetric encryption and their related services.

  2. The use and merits of streaming and block ciphers 
  3. Symmetric encryption and case studies for their use
  4. Asymmetric encryption and non-confidentiality based services
  5. Hashing and related services
